Gurugram: She was a software engineer by profession, but a passionate biker by heart. 28-year-old Somita’s life was entangled in the thrill of speed, and this passion became her last ride. On Sunday morning, her BMW sports bike collided with a speeding car on Leopard Train Road in Gurugram. The accident was so terrible that Somita fell away. As soon as she reached the hospital, the doctors declared her dead. The death of this young woman from Lucknow has shocked the family.
Passion for biking and last ride

Somita shifted from Lucknow to Noida eight months ago. There she was working as an engineer in the famous software company Capgemini. Biking was her passion, and her red BMW was her identity. On Sunday, she came from Noida to Gurugram with her bikers group. In the morning, her bike collided with a car on Leopard Train Road. According to eyewitnesses, the collision was so strong that the bike was shattered, and Somita fell several meters away.

Somita’s friends and members of the bikers’ group immediately took her to the nearest hospital, but the doctors had no chance to save her. A Gurugram police official said, “As soon as we got information about the accident, we reached the hospital. Seeing Somita’s condition, it was clear that the injuries were very serious. The body has been sent for postmortem.”

The family’s pain and allegations

Somita’s father Mahendrapal Singh is in a bad state due to crying. Mahendrapal, who reached Gurugram on Sunday evening, told the police, “I got information on the phone that my daughter has died in an accident. I am shattered.” This is the second big blow for him. Some time ago, his son died after drowning in a pond. Now only a young daughter is left in the family.

Mahendrapal held the bikers’ group responsible for Somita’s death. He alleged, “That group had called Somita from Noida to Gurugram. My daughter died because of their negligence and speeding.” On the complaint of the father, the police have registered a case against the group and started investigation.
