Kharar, 7 April 2025: The sensational incident of snatching a gold chain from a woman’s neck in broad daylight in Kharar, Punjab has created a stir in the area. Two bike-borne miscreants targeted a couple riding a scooty, overtook them and stopped them and fled after robbing the chain. The video shows that the woman was sitting behind her husband on the scooty, when the miscreants riding a high-speed bike suddenly attacked. After overtaking the scooty, they forcibly stopped it and pulled the gold chain from the woman’s neck. The scooty became unbalanced due to the speed of the attack, and the couple fell on the road. After this, the miscreants fled on a bike.

Local resident Ramesh Kumar said, “All this happened so quickly that no one understood anything. It was only after seeing the CCTV footage that we came to know how daring the miscreants were.” After the incident, panic has spread in the area, and people are worried about their safety.

Police’s quick action

Kharar police has taken the matter seriously. After visiting the spot, the police recorded the statement from the victim and seized the CCTV footage. A senior police officer said, “We are analyzing the footage closely. Efforts are on to identify the bike number and the miscreants. The accused will be caught soon.” The police have also assured to increase patrolling in the area and keep an eye on the suspects.
