A young woman from Uttar Pradesh met an Australian youth working in Australia while playing Ludo online. The youth came to India and married the girl. After the honeymoon, he returned to Australia. Later, when the girl went to Australia looking for the youth, she found out that the youth was already married. He also has a wife and children.

The young woman from Ayodhya has approached the police after this.

According to police sources, Ayodhya resident Jyoti Shukla met a young man named Aniket Sharma while playing Ludo online during the COVID pandemic in 2020. Aniket, a health worker by profession, told Jyoti that he was a resident of Mohannagar in Nawanshahr, Punjab, and lived in Australia for work. As their friendship grew, Aniket proposed marriage to Jyoti. Jyoti also agreed to the marriage. After that, the youth came to India on May 6, 2023 and married Jyoti. Members of Jyoti’s family were also present at the wedding. But Aniket’s family did not attend the wedding. Aniket said that he lived in Australia with his family for work. Aniket also promised to take Jyoti to his in-laws’ house after the wedding.

After the wedding, the two went on a honeymoon. But three days later, the youth suddenly said that he had to return to Australia quickly for some important office work. The youth left for Australia that day. Since then, he allegedly started avoiding his ‘wife’ on various pretexts. After that, in September 2023, Jyoti reached Aniket’s given address in Australia on a tourist visa. Only then did the young woman find out that her husband was already married! He also has children. It was also learned that Aniket’s parents do not live in Australia at all. They live in Punjab. Jyoti alleges that after she called Aniket’s parents and told them the whole incident, they started verbally abusing her. As a last resort, Jyoti went to Aniket’s house in Punjab. But there, Aniket’s family members allegedly beat her up and drove her away. After that, the young woman has filed a written complaint at the police station against Aniket and his family. The police have started investigation by filing a case against the youth on several charges including physical harassment, dowry demand and fraud. A search has been started to find the youth.
