If Bangladeshis are employed then…, this state government has issued orders for contractors

Contractors in Maharashtra will no longer be able to employ Bangladeshis in their projects. The state government has recently issued orders for Mumbai. Actually, the government has taken this decision due to security reasons in the case of Bangladeshi intruders.
In the attack on Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan at his home, the attacker was also being linked to Bangladesh.
According to media reports, Home Minister Yogesh Kadam told the Assembly on Tuesday that developers and contractors have been asked to give an undertaking that they will not employ any Bangladeshi. They have also been informed in this regard by the Maharashtra government. He said that if any Bangladeshi is seen in the project, it is their responsibility to inform the police.
He said, ‘The police and labor department are talking to contractors and developers in Mumbai and Thane regarding the employment of Bangladeshis, but there was a delay in giving information.’ He said, ‘The guardian minister of Mumbai had held a meeting and said that Mumbai contractors and developers will have to give an undertaking that they have not employed Bangladeshi workers.’
He also said that the state government has arrested and deported the highest number of Bangladeshis in the history of Maharashtra. According to a Times of India report, Maharashtra has deported 202 Bangladeshis in 2024. He also said that more arrests could not be converted into deportations because of lack of cooperation from the Bengal government.
He said, ‘Out of the 400-500 Bangladeshis arrested, only 20-25 could be deported after court proceedings.’ He said that most of them had documents and in 99 percent of the cases these documents were made in Bengal. He said, ‘In the court, we have to prove that these documents are fake, but the West Bengal government is not cooperating.’
