Do you know which state will be the first to have 5 international airports?.. Yogi Adityanath is confused

Indians are increasingly traveling. Convenient road, rail and air transport are making it possible.
India’s travel infrastructure has been expanding rapidly in recent years. New airports and rail lines are improving connectivity across the country. However, only one state is set to reach a significant milestone in travel infrastructure. That state is Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh is soon to become the first state in the country to have five international airports. Uttar Pradesh is currently ruled by the BJP led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Till 2012, Uttar Pradesh had only two international airports in Lucknow (Chowdhary Charan Singh International Airport) and Varanasi (Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport). In the following years, the state’s air transport landscape has changed significantly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kushinagar International Airport on October 20, 2021.

This international airport was launched with the primary objective of Buddhist tourism. The Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya became operational in 2023. It further improved air connectivity in the region. The much-awaited Noida International Airport in Jewar is nearing completion in 2024. It will become operational soon.

The airport is spread over an area of 1,334 hectares. It is designed to handle 1.20 crore passengers annually in its first building. It will become the fifth international airport in Uttar Pradesh. With this expansion, Uttar Pradesh is set to provide unparalleled air connectivity.

This will facilitate travel for both domestic and international passengers. Noida International Airport will operate as the second largest airport in the Delhi-NCR region along with Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Moreover, this airport is located about 72 km away from IGI Airport. Thus, the new airport will significantly reduce congestion at Delhi Airport. Meanwhile, Noida International Airport will cater to the growing passenger and cargo needs.
