Positive signals from global markets, bounce in Asian stock markets too

New Delhi, March 17 (HS). There are signs of strength from the global market today. There was continuous buying in the US market during the previous session. However, trading is being seen with a decrease in Dow Jones futures today. There was a bullish trend in European markets during the previous session. Asian markets are also generally strong today.

There was continuous buying in the US market during the previous session, due to which the Wall Street index closed with a huge jump. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 41,488.19 with an increase of 674.62 points or 1.65 percent. Similarly, the S&P 500 index closed at 5,638.94 points with an increase of 117.42 points or 2.13 percent. In addition, the Nasdaq closed at 17,754.09 points with an increase of 451.07 points or 2.61 percent. Meanwhile, Dow Jones Futures is trading at 41,304.13 points, down 184.06 points, or 0.44 percent, today.

Like the US market, the European market also maintained a continuous upward trend during the last session. The FTSE index closed at 8,632.33 points, up 1.04 percent. Similarly, the CAC index jumped 1.12 percent to reach 8,028.28 points at the end of the previous session. In addition, the DAX index closed at 22,986.82 points, up 419.68 points, or 1.83 percent.

Asian markets are generally bullish today. Out of 9 Asian markets, 7 indices are trading in the green with an increase, while 2 indices are in the red with a decrease. The CET Composite Index is trading 0.60 percent lower at 1,166.73 points. Similarly, the Jakarta Composite Index fell 0.77 percent to 6,465.75 points.

On the other hand, the GIFT Nifty is trading at 22,622 points with an increase of 203.50 points, or 0.91 percent. Similarly, the Straits Times Index rose 0.80 percent to 3,866.83 points. The Kospi Index made a huge jump today. Currently, this index is trading at 2,608.52 points with an increase of 1.64 percent. Similarly, the Nikkei Index has risen 485.59 points, or 1.31 percent, to 37,538.69 points. Apart from this, the Hang Seng Index rose 294.41 points or 1.23 percent to 24,254.39 points, the Taiwan Weighted Index rose 251.01 points or 1.14 percent to 22,219.06 points and the Shanghai Index rose 420 percent to 24,254.39 points.
