Tata Group Signs Major Deal for a Historic Five-Star Hotel

Tata Group’s hospitality arm, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), has signed an agreement with the Tripura government to transform the century-old Pushpabant Palace into a world-class five-star hotel. This significant project, which involves an investment of ₹260 crore, is expected to create more than 200 jobs in the region. The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, expressed the importance of this agreement, especially as it coincided with the auspicious occasion of Holi.
The palace will be renamed Taj Pushpabant Palace, and the project is expected to be completed within three years. This initiative is part of a larger trend of converting palaces into luxury hotels, with similar successful transformations seen in places like Jaipur and Udaipur. The luxurious redesign and renovation of Pushpabant Palace will not only enhance the state’s tourism sector but also generate employment and attract global visitors, contributing to Tripura’s economy.
