Grenade Attack at Amritsar Temple on Holi Night, Police Suspects Pakistan Involvement

On the night of Holi, a grenade explosion shook the Thakur Dwara temple in the Khandwala area of Amritsar. Two assailants targeted the temple around midnight on Friday. Although the temple’s priest was inside during the attack, he miraculously escaped unscathed. The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage, which shows one of the attackers throwing the grenade before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.

Amritsar police have suggested the involvement of Pakistan in the attack, citing previous instances of such criminal activities linked to the neighboring country. The Police Commissioner, Gurpreet Bhullar, confirmed that the authorities have launched a thorough search operation and are doing everything possible to arrest the culprits. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, also hinted at Pakistan’s role in fomenting unrest in Punjab, including issues like drug trafficking and drone activities. The incident has sparked political debate, with various political leaders expressing concerns over the growing insecurity in the state.
