Court Orders Immediate Refund of ₹450 Crore to Rose Valley Investors

A significant development has come for the defrauded depositors of the Rose Valley chit fund company. The court has ordered the return of ₹450 crore to the investors. The special PMLE court in Odisha has given clearance to deposit the total ₹332.76 crore (with interest, now totaling ₹450 crore) seized from Rose Valley into the Asset Disposal Committee (ADC) account. Under the supervision of the Kolkata High Court, the funds will be refunded to investors based on priority, as directed by the committee led by retired judge Dilip Seth.

The ADC has already refunded ₹22 crore to 32,319 investors. However, more than 31 lakh applications have been received. The sale of Rose Valley’s assets has resulted in the recovery of ₹2,100 crore, including ₹800 crore in cash deposited with the ED. The Kolkata High Court has asked the ED for an update on the sale of 22 hotels and other properties of Rose Valley.
