1.5 Lakh Freshers to Secure Jobs in Technology Sector, Hiring Set to Rise in Next Fiscal Year

In the upcoming fiscal year, the technology sector in India is set to witness a significant rise in fresher hiring. A recent report highlights that around 1.5 lakh fresh graduates, especially engineering students, will find employment in the sector, which is nearly double the number of hires in the current fiscal year. This increase in job opportunities is mainly driven by major recruitment firms like Teamlease, which forecasts the hiring of over 1 lakh engineering graduates in the IT sector alone. Leading companies such as Cognizant, Accenture, and Capgemini are expected to recruit between 1.6 lakh and 1.8 lakh engineering freshers, according to another report by UnEarth Insights.
Experts suggest that while the outsourcing industry faced challenges in 2024 due to international circumstances, the situation has improved. Technology firms are now in a more confident position to hire freshers. Although there are concerns about potential trade barriers from international policies, especially tariff hikes from the Trump administration, the outlook for fresher employment in the technology sector remains optimistic. The demand for fresh talent is expected to grow, particularly in IT services and Artificial Intelligence sectors, which have seen significant investments in recent years.
