Record 25 Million Pilgrims Visit the Kaaba in the First 10 Days of Ramadan

In the first 10 days of this year’s Ramadan, a record-breaking 25 million Muslims have visited the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam. This marks the highest number of visitors for the first 10 days of Ramadan in recent history. This information was shared in a statement by the Saudi government’s General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Additionally, a total of 55 million pilgrims have completed their Umrah during these 10 days, setting another record. The usual crowd of Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan is significant, but this year’s turnout has surpassed previous years, reflecting the growing number of people taking part in the holy pilgrimage.

To manage the huge influx of visitors and maintain order around the Kaaba, the Saudi authorities have deployed over 11,000 workers in and around the Grand Mosque. The cleanliness and maintenance efforts have been ramped up with 4,000 additional workers and 350 managers overseeing the operations. The mosque complex is equipped with more than 8,000 speakers and 120,000 lights to assist in prayer and maintain the spiritual atmosphere for the pilgrims.
