Tributes to Martyr Sunil Gujar

The nation mourns the loss of Jawan Sunil Gujar, who tragically lost his life in an accident while on duty at the India-China border. Hailing from the village of Shittur in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district, Sunil was only 27 years old. His untimely demise has left his family, including his parents, wife, and a six-month-old child, devastated. Despite his desire to reunite with his loved ones, Sunil made the ultimate sacrifice for his motherland, embodying unparalleled bravery and dedication.
Sunil’s regiment, the 110 Bombay Engineering Regiment, had been actively involved in repairing roads damaged by landslides in Manipur when the unfortunate vehicle accident occurred. For months, he had been awaiting leave approval to visit his family after completing his training. Although the leave was finally granted, destiny had other plans, and he never made it home. As his grieving family and fellow villagers pay their final respects, they honor his selfless commitment to the nation. Sunil’s sacrifice will forever be remembered as a testament to his courage and unwavering sense of duty.
