US Cancels Indian Scholar’s Visa Over Hamas Support Allegations, She Leaves for Voluntary Exile

The United States has taken a strong stance against an Indian scholar accused of supporting Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist organization. Ranjani Srinivasan, a student at Columbia University, had her visa canceled on March 5 by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The American authorities claim that Srinivasan’s actions amount to endorsing violence and terrorism.

Srinivasan, who was studying urban planning at Columbia University, reportedly used the CBP One app to voluntarily leave the U.S. after her visa was revoked. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary, Kirstjen Nielsen, posted a video of the scholar leaving the country, condemning anyone who supports violence and terrorism. However, as of now, no concrete evidence linking Srinivasan directly to Hamas has been presented by U.S. immigration officials. Srinivasan, who also holds degrees from Harvard University and worked on the Philadelphia Landscape Project, has now left the country and is believed to be in voluntary exile.
