Access Property Deeds Online Soon

In a major digital leap, property deeds from 1965 to 2025 will soon be accessible online. This initiative by the state government aims to simplify the process of obtaining certified copies of land and house deeds, eliminating the need for long office queues or spending thousands through middlemen. Now, citizens can get these documents for just INR 100-200. Previously, online access was limited to deeds registered from 2007 onward. The new system will extend this to include deeds from 1985 onwards, with plans to digitize even older records dating back to 1965.
The government has already digitized around three crore deeds from 1985 to 2015, storing them on a secure portal. The ongoing effort to digitize older records ensures that people can easily retrieve their necessary documents online. To apply, users need key details like the deed number, registration office name, and year of registration. These can be found via the Directorate of Registration and Stamp Revenue’s official website. For those unfamiliar with online processes, local Bangla Seva Kendras will assist in filing applications. With this move, accessing property deeds is now faster, cheaper, and hassle-free for everyone.
