Rain and snowfall likely in many states including Delhi-UP, Meteorological Department issues alert

The rain that occurred in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan on Friday evening has changed the mood of the weather. The Meteorological Department has also shown the possibility of rain on March 15 and 16. Along with this, an alert of strong winds and hail has also been issued.

According to IMD, light to moderate rain with strong sound and lightning will occur in many districts in the next 24 hours. During this, lightning is also likely to occur along with hail. Rain with strong winds was recorded in many parts of the country on the occasion of Holi. Due to the rain, the cold has increased slightly in Uttar Pradesh again.

Today, Delhi and its surrounding areas are likely to experience light frost and strong winds with a speed of 30-20 kmph in the morning. The maximum temperature can be around 28-27 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be around 15-14 degrees Celsius. The effect of hailstorm has reduced but the air will remain humid and cool. There may be relief from the sunshine during the day, but cold winds will blow again in the evening. Light rain is also likely in Delhi today.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a wind, rain and hailstorm alert in 11 districts of Rajasthan on Saturday. This change in weather has come after the effect of Western Disturbance on Thursday, due to which rain and snowfall occurred in many districts including Jaipur, Sikar, Bharatpur, Dosa Alwar, Bikaner and Churu. Sikar recorded the highest rainfall of 8 mm, while Alwar received 2.4 mm. The rain has reduced the temperature, which has brought relief from the heat.

According to the Meteorological Department, light rain or snowfall is likely in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand due to the effect of a Western Disturbance. There may be some humidity in the weather from morning to afternoon, especially in high altitude areas like Shimla, Manali, Srinagar and Gulmarg. The weather is expected to improve from March 16. Only a few areas may receive light rain. The weather is likely to improve further by March 17.
