A shocking incident occurred in Uluberia’s Birshibpur, Khanzadapur, where a one-and-a-half-year-old child was allegedly murdered. Police have arrested Firoz Jamadar following a complaint filed by the child’s mother, Masia Begum. According to Masia, she worked in Firoz’s tea shop and rented a room just above it. Firoz allegedly harassed Masia, taking advantage of her husband’s absence. The child was perceived by him as an obstacle in his sinister intentions. On Wednesday morning, when Masia stepped out briefly, Firoz entered her room. Returning shortly after, Masia found her child lying unconscious. The child was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The court has remanded the accused to five days of police custody, and further investigation is underway.
