Donald Trump: Now the ball is in America’s court, Can ‘friend’ Trump break Putin’s standards?

There is a hope of stopping the war. Although everything is not clear. There are various uncertainties. Nevertheless, Ukraine has agreed to sign a ceasefire agreement with Russia for 1 month in accordance with the American proposal. After the Trump-Zelensky meeting at the White House collapsed, the two countries resumed talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sayyidov sat face to face at the negotiating table. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was the mediator.

After two days of continuous talks, a joint US-Ukraine statement has come to the fore. It says that Ukraine has agreed to a ceasefire for 30 days. If the situation is right, its period can be extended further. Now Russia will have to make a decision. Only if they stop the attack will the ceasefire actually take effect. Ukrainian President Zelensky and US President Trump both have given their seal on this news.

In Washington, Trump told the press that Ukraine has agreed to a ceasefire. Now it is Russia’s turn. Hopefully, Putin will agree too. Trump also said that he is ready to welcome Zelensky back to the White House. He may also talk to Putin this week. All American financial and military aid enters Ukraine through Poland. Trump stopped all of that. Since Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire, US planes have started landing in Poland again with aid for them.

However, not everything is clear. There is confusion. It has not been said when this ceasefire will take effect. And, Russia has not said whether they are willing to sign the ceasefire agreement. The Kremlin has only said that they are reading the Jeddah Joint Statement carefully. And they are waiting for an official message from the US administration. Although there has been verbal talk of a ceasefire, the war has not stopped. On the contrary, both Russia and Ukraine have intensified drone attacks on each other’s countries.
