Horrific road accident in Madhya Pradesh, seven killed in tanker collision

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): A horrific road accident took place on the Badnawar-Ajman forelane in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on Wednesday night, in which 7 people lost their lives and 3 others were seriously injured.
According to Badnawar Police Station In-charge Amit Kushwaha, the accident took place at around 11 pm when a tanker coming from the opposite direction first hit a pickup truck and then a car coming behind it. The tanker was heading towards Ujjain, while the other vehicles were coming from the opposite direction.
According to eyewitnesses, four people died on the spot in the accident, while the other injured were immediately shifted to Badnawar Civil Hospital. Police sources said that the death toll is likely to rise as the condition of one of the injured remains critical.
According to the police, one person in the pickup truck died on the spot, while the other was seriously injured. There were four people in the car, three of whom died on the spot, while the fourth was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.
The police have started the process of identifying the deceased in the accident. According to initial reports, all the deceased were residents of Mandsaur in Saitmaon police station area and were going to Mandsaur from Indore via Ujjain.
The accident was so horrific that the pickup vehicle got stuck under the tanker, due to which it was not possible to immediately pull out the people in the vehicles. The police and the rescue team pulled out two bodies with the help of a crane.
Police said that the driver of the tanker fled the scene after the accident, and a search is underway for him. The police team that reached the spot has also started the work of removing the debris of the vehicles, so that traffic on the road can be restored.
The bodies have been sent to Badnawar Civil Hospital, where their post-mortem will be conducted. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the causes of the accident and various teams have been formed to arrest the fleeing driver.
