Jaipur: The team of Anti Corruption Bureau raided the residences of the superintending engineer of the development authority of Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur. Searches were conducted at the residences of engineer Avinash Sharma as well as the houses of his relatives. During this, documents of more than 100 plots and immovable properties were found in Jaipur.

Rs 13 lakh in cash was found from the engineer’s Jaipur residence. 140 grams of gold, 500 grams of silver jewellery was found. Rs 30 lakh was found in 7 different bank accounts. Apart from this, information about investment of Rs 1 crore 34 lakh in mutual funds and share market was also received. Two-wheelers and four-wheelers worth Rs 25 lakh were also recovered. Documents of spending Rs 50 lakh on daughters’ education were found. Information about investment in several insurance policies and two bank lockers was also received.

ACB claims that while working in JDA, Avinash Sharma misused his position and benefited the builders. In return, he himself bought ply worth crores at a very low price. Apart from this, ACB has also claimed that the engineer has accumulated property 235 times more than his income.
