Fake calls posing as Amit Shah’s son demanding crores of rupees from Manipur MLAs! Three arrested.

Fraudsters posed as Jay Shah, the son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and demanded crores of rupees from MLAs through fake calls. In this incident, three youths were caught in the police net this time! The incident recently took place in Imphal, the capital of Manipur. The accused were brought to Imphal from Delhi on Tuesday.

According to nationwide media reports, in the first week of February, a call was received by Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly. A male voice on the other end claimed to be Jay Shah, the son of Amit Shah. Following this, there were allegations that 4 crore rupees were demanded from Satyabrata for a ministerial position. Not only the Speaker, but throughout February, a few more leaders in Manipur were similarly called and asked for money by the fraudsters. Each time, the demand was made in the name of Jay Shah!

During the investigation into the matter, the police arrested three individuals. On Tuesday morning, the accused were brought from Delhi to Imphal, where further interrogation will take place. Cases have been filed against the accused under Sections 318(4) and 319(2) of the Indian Penal Code for fraud and impersonation. Additionally, in a separate incident, the police also arrested a 19-year-old youth who allegedly posed as Jay Shah and demanded 5 lakh rupees from BJP MLA Adesh Chauhan of Uttarakhand.
