Zelensky Sends Letter of Apology to Trump! Claims US Special Envoy Regarding Oval Office Dispute

After a heated argument, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sent a letter of apology to US President Donald Trump! This was revealed by Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy responsible for West Asia. Following the public spat between the two leaders in the Oval Office, the US and Ukraine are set to return to the negotiation table.

This time, the meeting between Trump and Zelensky’s administrations will take place in a third country, Saudi Arabia. Just before this meeting, Witkoff informed the US media outlet Fox News about Zelensky’s letter of apology.

Earlier, Zelensky had already spoken out about the unprecedented public argument between the two leaders in the Oval Office. He also expressed regret on social media regarding the incident. Zelensky stated that he was “regretful” about the verbal altercation. However, the social media post did not mention an apology. Later, during Trump’s speech at a joint session of the US Congress, the verbal clash was brought up again. The US President mentioned that he had received an “important letter” from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump also stated that Zelensky was eager to sit at the negotiation table to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump claimed that Zelensky had mentioned this in the letter. He even read out portions of the letter during the joint session of Congress. However, the apology was not disclosed at that time.

On Monday, Trump’s envoy Witkoff told Fox News, “Zelensky has sent a letter to President (Donald Trump). He has apologized for the entire incident in the Oval Office. I believe this is an important step. Our delegation has discussed many issues with Ukraine and European representatives.” However, it is unclear which letter Witkoff was referring to. Was it the “important letter” Trump recently mentioned during the joint session, or is it a new letter that has arrived at the White House? The US diplomat did not clarify this.

Following the argument, representatives from both the US and Ukraine have arrived in Saudi Arabia to return to the negotiation table. Witkoff is optimistic that positive outcomes will emerge from this meeting. He also hopes that Zelensky will visit the US again in the coming days to discuss a mineral agreement. The US diplomat informed Fox News that there have been several positive indications regarding this matter.
