Knights leader Rahane arrives in Kolkata, Russell-Narine to arrive tomorrow

With the end of the Champions Trophy, the IPL has come to a standstill. Domestic and foreign cricketers have started joining their franchises with the aim of entering the millionaire league within a day. Anrich Nokia, Quinton de Kock and Ramandeep Singh were the first to set foot in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Kolkata Knight Riders’ current captain Ajinkya Rahane arrived in the city this afternoon. The star cricketer was seen entering the hotel in black pants, black baggy T-shirt, black cap and sunglasses. KKR fans were present outside the hotel to welcome him.
Fans welcomed the new captain of the Knights in a golden purple jersey with posters, placards and flags. The poster read, ‘Welcome to Home Knights the Extreme.’ Rahane entered the hotel and posed for a photo session in front of the three trophies won by KKR in the lobby.
With the arrival of Rahane and De Kock, the IPL fever will undoubtedly start rising in the city. Angakrish Raghuvanshi and a few other domestic cricketers are expected to arrive by Tuesday night. Two Caribbean stars Andre Russell and Sunil Narine will join the team on Wednesday morning. They will land at Dum Dum airport by 8:30 am. Moeen Ali and Rovman Powell will accompany them. Only four cricketers who played in the Champions Trophy will join the team next week. This list includes two Indians and two foreigners. They are Varun Chakraborty, Harshit Rana, Spencer Johnson and Rahmatullah Gurbaz. The Knights camp has informed that they will join the team after a few days of vacation. It is heard that KKR will start preparations at Eden from Wednesday evening.
