Shuvendu Adhikari Slams TMC Government Over Temple Attacks

Leader of the Opposition Shuvendu Adhikari has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of being “communal” and its police force of bias. He alleged that over the past 4-5 days, multiple Hindu temples in Baruipur, Tamluk’s Shrirampur, and Basirhat were attacked, with idols being vandalized. Adhikari claimed that despite these incidents, the police have not arrested anyone. He also cited attacks on Hindu households in Murshidabad.
Adhikari further criticized the state for failing to protect religious sites, a duty enshrined in the Constitution. His remarks have sparked a political firestorm, with the TMC dismissing the allegations as baseless. The controversy highlights the growing tensions over communal issues in West Bengal, raising concerns about law and order in the state.
