Mahakal Temple Rules Broken Again as Billionaire Enters Sanctum

Despite heavy security, the sanctum sanctorum of Ujjain’s Mahakal Temple was breached once again. Billionaire businessman Baba Saheb Nilkanth Kalyani and his wife entered the inner sanctum without permission and performed rituals for nearly 10 minutes. The temple rules strictly allow only priests, the Chief Minister, the Governor, or highly distinguished devotees to enter the sanctum.
The incident has raised concerns about the enforcement of temple regulations, even with hundreds of staff deployed for security. Authorities are investigating the breach, which highlights the challenges of managing access to one of India’s most revered temples. The temple administration faces criticism for failing to prevent such violations, despite stringent rules in place to protect the sanctity of the shrine.
