New EV Policy Likely in Delhi from April

A new electric vehicle (EV) policy may come into effect in Delhi-NCR starting next month, as the current policy is set to expire on March 31. Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh has reviewed EV Policy 2.0, which aims to promote electric vehicles on Delhi’s roads. The policy includes subsidies for private and public charging stations and the development of fast-charging corridors along major roads, including the Ring Road and Outer Ring Road.

The initiative is part of Delhi’s efforts to reduce pollution and transition to cleaner transportation. By incentivizing EV adoption and expanding charging infrastructure, the government hopes to accelerate the shift towards sustainable mobility. The policy reflects growing global trends towards electric vehicles and underscores Delhi’s commitment to combating air pollution and climate change.
