Will strengthen Congress in Kashmir and Ladakh: Syed Nasir Hussain

New Delhi: All India Congress Committee National General Secretary Syed Nasir Hussain has said that he will visit Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as soon as possible after the winter session of Parliament to strengthen the party in both the regions. He made it clear that his top priority is to make the organization effective and functional so that the Congress can emerge as a strong force again.
He said that since he took over as National General Secretary, Congress leaders from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been constantly meeting him and discussing political and organizational issues of the two regions with him. According to him, the enthusiasm of the party workers and the public proves that the Congress has the potential to become a strong alternative in these areas.
It is noteworthy that he recently met senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi at his residence. This was his first meeting with Rahul Gandhi after becoming the National General Secretary, in which they discussed in detail the politics of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Rahul Gandhi provided him with the necessary guidance to strengthen the Congress in these regions and said that the party must play an effective role in resolving the problems of the people.
Rahul Gandhi also referred to the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ on this occasion, which concluded in Kashmir. He said that through this Yatra, the Congress had reiterated its commitment to national unity, social justice and public welfare.
Syed Nasir Hussain said that he would soon pay a detailed visit to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and meet party workers, leaders and the people to review the situation on the ground. According to him, the Congress will quickly restore its influence in these regions and play an active role in resolving the problems of the people.
It may be noted that Syed Nasir Hussain is currently serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha, as well as a member of the Congress Working Committee and the party spokesperson. He has been active in Congress since his student days and thanked the party leadership, especially Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi.
