New Delhi/Awaaz The Vice President Since the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Delhi, many big decisions have been taken. The Delhi government has recently released its new EV Policy 2.0. The aim is to make 95% of new vehicles electric by 2027. In the proposed Delhi EV Policy 2.0, all CNG auto rickshaws, taxis and light commercial vehicles will be converted to EVs (electric vehicles) in a phased manner. This new policy of the Delhi government can be implemented from April 1. After its implementation, CNG vehicles will start phasing out. Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh recently held a review meeting regarding the new policy. In this meeting, the minister urged the officials to increase electric mobility in the city. Along with this, he also outlined the entire policy. What is special about the new policy? Under the Delhi government’s new EV policy, all CNG auto-rickshaws, taxis and light vehicles will be converted to electric vehicles (EVs) in a phased manner. The meeting was informed that public transport should also be shifted to electric buses. Under the new policy, the government will provide subsidy for the purchase of electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, e-light commercial vehicles (ELCVs) and e-trucks. The meeting was informed that a State EV Fund will be created to promote the EV policy. Which will be funded through green levy, pollution cess and aggregator license fee.
