Elon Musk reveals major cyber attack on ‘X’ from Ukraine, service affected globally

The popular microblogging platform X went down several times in a day on Monday, causing users around the world to face problems with login and other services. According to the tracking website ‘Down Detector’, more than 40,000 users have filed complaints globally. Users say that there were multiple problems with the app, website and server connection.

Responding to the issue, Elon Musk revealed that a major cyber attack was carried out on X, which allegedly originated from the Ukrainian region. During an interview on Fox News, he said that we do not fully know what happened, but X’s system was targeted through IP addresses generated from the Ukrainian region. According to Musk, the attack was highly organized and could have the backing of a large organization or country.

According to the Down Detector report, the first time X’s service was affected was at 3:30 pm, then at 7 pm and the third time at 8:44 pm. Users in various countries of the world, including India, Canada, the UK and Australia, were facing problems.

Initially, X management did not comment on the issue, to which users expressed their displeasure and accused the company of not being accountable. However, Elon Musk himself later posted on X, saying that a major cyber attack was carried out against us, which used huge resources.
