PM Modi Mauritius Visit: PM Modi leaves for two-day visit to Mauritius, will inaugurate more than 20 Made in India projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for a two-day visit to Mauritius. According to information received from the PMO, during this visit starting today, March 11, PM Modi will inaugurate more than 20 Made in India projects. These projects range from capacity building to community-based infrastructure projects.

During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the Civil Services College building in Mauritius along with his counterpart Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam. This building was built at a cost of about $ 4.75 million. An MoU was signed for this project in 2017.

34 ministers will welcome

Mauritius Deputy Chief Minister Hambyrajen Narsinghen said that he is very happy about PM Modi’s visit. Describing PM Modi’s visit as a special occasion, he said that all 34 ministers will welcome the Prime Minister.

Recalling PM Modi’s visit in 2015, Hambyrajen Narsinghen said that India is a role model for Mauritius in many areas. PM Modi is coming to Mauritius again after more than 10 years.

Earlier on Monday, PM Modi had said about the visit on X, “From tomorrow, I will be leaving for a two-day visit to Mauritius, where I will participate in the 57th National Day celebrations. I look forward to meeting my friend and Prime Minister Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam. I also look forward to interacting with the Indian community there. Mauritius is a close maritime neighbour and an important partner in the Indian Ocean. We are bound by shared values ​​and deep cultural ties. My visit will further strengthen the foundation of our friendship and add a bright chapter to India-Mauritius relations.”
