A BJP leader was killed by miscreants in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The name of the deceased leader is Gulfam Singh Yadav. He is an important face of the Sambhal BJP. In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, he was the BJP candidate against the then Samajwadi Party supremo Adhuna Late Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Police said that the murder took place in the BJP leader’s farmhouse in Daftara village of Sambhal. Gulfam Singh Yadav was sitting at one end of the farmhouse and resting. Then three youths came to meet him on a motorcycle. After some time, they gave the BJP leader three injections in a row, according to the police. After some time, he fell ill and was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead. Before that, the three youths escaped. The autopsy revealed the method of murder.

It is still unclear why the BJP leader was murdered. However, due to the situation in Sambhal, the murder of the BJP leader has become a cause of concern for the city residents and the police and administration. There has been a controversy over the city’s Jama Masjid for a year. The Hindu side claims that it is actually the Harishankar Temple. It was demolished to make way for the mosque.

To resolve the dispute, the Archaeological Survey of India is conducting a survey of the mosque. In the meantime, there has been anger in the Muslim community over the administration’s statement regarding Holi next Friday. The police and administration, in a meeting with all religious communities, advised Muslims to stay home during the noon Jumma prayers that day. According to the administration, there could be problems if people from both communities are on the streets at the same time.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has fully supported this statement of the police and administration. He said that gathering in the mosque for offering prayers is not mandatory in Islam. Moreover, Muslims get the opportunity to offer Jumma prayers throughout the year. There, Holi for Hindus is only one day.

As the news of the murder of the BJP leader spread, party members and RSS colleagues gathered in droves at the hospital. They demanded strict punishment for the murderers.
