‘Keep Your Son Away from VIP Culture!’ Mamata’s Blunt Warning to Candidate on Stage

In a stern display of discipline ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee publicly reprimanded Jamuria MLA and TMC candidate Hareram Singh during a rally in Raghunathpur on Saturday. The Chief Minister expressed her deep dissatisfaction following reports of Singh’s son, Prempal Singh, allegedly flaunting his father’s power by roaming the area in a vehicle with a red beacon and a massive convoy.
Addressing the gathering, Banerjee took a sudden pause and turned towards Hareram Singh on stage. “Hareram, I am receiving several complaints against you. Warn your son immediately. He should not be seen roaming around in a car with a red beacon. Remember, it is the common people who vote you to power. Any display of arrogance or VIP culture will not be tolerated by the party,” she warned in a firm tone.
Local residents in Jamuria had reportedly been upset for months over Prempal Singh’s “convoy culture,” which frequently caused inconvenience to commuters. The Chief Minister’s decision to school her own candidate in public is being seen as a calculated move to curb anti-incumbency and send a message that the Trinamool Congress will not harbor any internal high-handedness. This open warning has set ripples through the local political corridors, signaling that performance and public conduct are the only keys to survival in Mamata’s 2026 campaign.
