Justice for Rahul Sau: SFI Demands Joint SIT Probe by Bengal and Odisha Govts into Content Creator’s Death

The mysterious death of Rahul Sau, a prominent former student of Jadavpur University and a well-known content creator, has ignited a massive protest in West Bengal. Suspecting a deep-rooted conspiracy behind his demise in Odisha, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has officially demanded the formation of a joint Special Investigation Team (SIT) involving both the West Bengal and Odisha governments. A massive protest march was organized in Kolkata on Tuesday, where students gathered in large numbers to demand transparency and justice.
During the demonstration, SFI leader Debanjan De delivered a scathing critique of the current social climate and the organized trolling following Rahul’s death. Expressing his outrage over the alleged character assassination of the deceased, De remarked, “Certain beasts have been given entry into the soil of West Bengal, creatures who are now engaging in ‘beastly celebrations’ over a dead person.” His remarks were a direct attack on those attempting to derail the narrative and suppress the demand for an impartial probe by spreading misinformation.
The SFI contends that since the tragedy occurred in another state, only a high-level coordinated effort between the two state administrations can uncover the truth. They highlighted significant loopholes in the preliminary findings by the Odisha police and supported the family’s claim that Rahul might have been a victim of targeted foul play. The organization has warned of an intensified state-wide agitation if the authorities fail to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the death. As the demand for justice grows, the pressure is now on the administration to act swiftly and decisively.
