Justice After 45 Years! MP Man Arrested at Age 65 for Stealing 100 Rupees Worth of Grain in 1980

In a classic example of “the law never forgets,” police in Madhya Pradesh have arrested a 65-year-old man for a crime he committed nearly half a century ago. The offense? Stealing a bag of wheat worth just ₹100 back in 1980. After evading the authorities for 45 years, Salim was finally apprehended from the Dhar district, proving that the wheels of justice turn slowly but surely.
Salim was just 20 years old when he allegedly entered a wheat field in the Balsamund area and made off with a sack of grain. Shortly after the FIR was lodged, Salim and his family fled the village and resettled in the Bag area of Dhar district. Over the decades, Salim transformed his life, opened a local shop, and lived a peaceful, crime-free existence. He had likely assumed that his youthful indiscretion was a forgotten chapter of the past.
However, the MP Police recently launched a special drive to clear “cold cases” and pending warrants. While dusting off old files, investigators stumbled upon the 1980 theft case. Using local intelligence, the police traced Salim to his current residence and took him into custody. Neighbors were shocked to see the elderly shopkeeper being arrested for a 45-year-old minor theft. This arrest serves as a stark reminder that even a small crime can haunt one’s future, no matter how much time has passed.
