“Indira’s Leftist Ideology Fueled Maoism,” Claims Amit Shah in a Blistering Attack on Congress

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, linking the rise of Maoism in India to her “leftist ideological leanings.” Shah asserted that the lack of political will and administrative apathy during the Congress regime allowed left-wing extremism to take deep roots in the country.
During his address, Shah accused the Congress of being a silent spectator while the Maoist threat expanded across several states. “Maoism flourished under the shadow of Indira Gandhi’s policies. For decades, Congress did absolutely nothing to eliminate this menace,” the Home Minister stated, sparking heated debates in the House.
Contrasting this with the current government’s performance, Shah highlighted that under the Modi administration, Maoist violence has been pushed to the brink of extinction. He claimed that the strategic ‘zero-tolerance’ approach has successfully dismantled terror networks that were once emboldened by Congress’s perceived leniency. Shah’s remarks set a definitive tone for the ongoing political battle over national security and historical accountability.
