Inciting Speech on Car Roof Costs Dearly, CID Arrests AIMIM Leader Mofakkerul Islam

In a swift operation, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal arrested AIMIM leader Mofakkerul Islam and his associate at Bagdogra Airport on Friday morning. The arrest pertains to an incident in Mothabari, Malda, where Mofakkerul was allegedly seen standing atop a vehicle and delivering a highly provocative speech.
The video of the incident, which showed the leader inciting the crowd, went viral on social media, prompting immediate police action. According to investigating agencies, Mofakkerul had been on the run ever since the case was registered. He was reportedly trying to flee via the airport when CID officials, acting on specific intelligence, intercepted and apprehended him.
With the election code in effect, the administration is keeping a strict vigil on hate speech and attempts to disrupt communal harmony. Mofakkerul is expected to be taken back to Malda for further questioning and legal proceedings. The arrest marks a stern warning against leaders using inflammatory rhetoric during the high-stakes election season.
