“I Don’t Take a Single Penny as Salary, Yet They Call Me a Thief!” Mamata Hits Back at BJP in Pandabeswar

The political temperature in West Bengal has reached a boiling point as TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the BJP during a rally in Pandabeswar on Thursday. Responding to the “thief” (Chor) jibes from the opposition, the Chief Minister asserted, “I have never taken a single paisa as salary in my life as CM. I don’t even have a cup of tea with someone else’s money, yet they call me a thief. Their language is ‘naked’ and indecent.”

Highlighting her government’s contributions to the Asansol region, she pointed out projects like the Andal Airport, Nazrul Islam University, and the Multi-Super Specialty Hospital. She also slammed the Centre over the condition of coal mine workers, alleging that despite her repeated proposals for joint planning over the last 5-6 years, the Centre has prioritized privatization and “looting” over workers’ welfare.
