Humanity Fails On Camera! Man Writhing In Pain After Durg Crash Ignored By Commuters; Chilling CCTV Surfaces

A horrific road accident in Durg district’s Old Bhilai area has sparked a massive debate on road safety and the vanishing sense of humanity in urban spaces. On Monday afternoon, a young man named Nilesh Kurre lost his life on Umda Road after his motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck. However, the most disturbing part of the incident was captured on CCTV, showing bystanders ignoring the dying youth as he lay on the road in agony.

The Incident: According to police reports, Nilesh, a resident of Surdung, was returning to his village with a friend around 3 PM on Monday. A reckless truck collided with their bike from behind with such force that Nilesh sustained fatal head injuries instantly. His friend was also thrown off the bike and suffered multiple injuries, though he survived the impact.

The Chilling CCTV Footage: The CCTV footage of the accident, which has since gone viral, shows a grim picture of urban apathy. As Nilesh lay bleeding and struggling on the asphalt, several vehicles and pedestrians were seen passing by without stopping to help. Under the “Good Samaritan Law,” Indian citizens are legally protected when helping accident victims, yet the fear or indifference of the crowd meant Nilesh received no help during his final moments.

Legal Action: CSP Satyaprakash Tiwari stated that the Durg police have seized the body for post-mortem and registered a case against the truck driver. The accused has been arrested, and the vehicle has been impounded. While the investigation continues, this tragedy has once again highlighted the urgent need for stricter traffic enforcement and awareness about emergency assistance in the twin cities of Durg and Bhilai.
