HS Exam Alert: Bengal Class 12 Boards Begin Thursday; Mandatory Frisking & Strict Protocols In Place

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is all set to commence the Higher Secondary (HS) Class 12 semester examinations for 2026 starting tomorrow, February 12. The exams, scheduled to conclude on February 27, will be conducted in traditional offline (pen and paper) mode across approximately 2,100 designated centres in the state.

This academic session, an estimated 7.10 lakh candidates are appearing for Semester III, Semester IV, and Semester III supplementary examinations. According to the official timetable, the exams will be held in a single morning shift, starting at 10:00 AM and ending at 1:15 PM.

To ensure a smooth process, the Council has advised students to reach their respective examination centres at least 30 minutes prior to the reporting time. This buffer is required for mandatory frisking and document verification procedures. Strict vigil will be maintained to prevent any malpractice, and students are reminded that electronic gadgets and mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
