From Syndicate Raj to Infiltration: Shah’s 15-Year Report Card on TMC Rocks Bengal Politics

Ahead of the high-decibel 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration. In a press conference held today in Kolkata, Shah released a comprehensive ‘Charge Sheet’ documenting the alleged failures and corruption of Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year rule. The document aims to highlight what the BJP calls the “darkest chapter” in Bengal’s modern history.
Key Allegations in the Charge Sheet: The primary focus of the charge sheet is on systemic corruption. Shah pointed towards the multi-crore Teacher Recruitment Scam, the Ration Distribution Scam, and the illegal coal mining issues. “The 15 years of TMC rule have been characterized by institutionalized looting where central funds meant for the poor were siphoned off by the ‘syndicate’ and party cadres,” Shah remarked while presenting the data.
Law & Order and Demographic Change: The charge sheet heavily emphasizes the deteriorating safety of women, citing recent incidents including the Sandeshkhali and RG Kar issues. Shah alleged that the state government’s policy of “appeasement” has led to large-scale infiltration from across the border, threatening the national security and changing the demographic fabric of Bengal. He accused the TMC of converting Bengal from a “land of industries” to a “land of bombs and violence.”
Economic Stagnation: The BJP leader dismissed TMC’s claims of “Central neglect,” arguing that the Modi government provided significantly higher financial assistance than the previous UPA regime. However, he claimed these funds were blocked or misused by the state machinery. The charge sheet also highlights the lack of jobs, which has forced the state’s youth to migrate in search of opportunities.
By releasing this charge sheet, Amit Shah has officially sounded the poll bugle for 2026. The BJP plans to distribute copies of this document to every household across the state, making corruption and security the central themes of their campaign.
