Deepika Chikhalia, iconic for playing Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s legendary Ramayan, has finally broken her silence on Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming cinematic adaptation. While she was previously a staunch critic of remaking the epic—especially after the Adipurush debacle—the teaser of Ranbir Kapoor’s version has seemingly changed her mind.

The Big Endorsement: In a recent interview, Deepika praised the visuals, stating, “I have seen the teaser and it is magnificent. It looks very ‘rich’. They have crafted it beautifully, and now I am looking forward to the film.” This comes as a massive boost for the project, scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release.

A 7-Year Labor of Love: Director Nitesh Tiwari grew emotional during the teaser launch, sharing that he had waited seven years for this moment. Produced by Namit Malhotra with VFX by 8-time Oscar winner DNEG, the film features a historic musical collaboration between Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. With a powerhouse cast including Ranbir Kapoor (Ram), Sai Pallavi (Sita), and Yash (Raavan), the “blessing” from the original Sita has set expectations sky-high for this two-part epic.
