Defying Iran! Oman’s Oil Tankers Find Alternative Route to Bypass Strait of Hormuz Lockdown

The Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most vital oil artery, remains paralyzed due to the escalating Iran-USA conflict. While Iran has restricted transit, reports allege they are charging “friendly” nations an exorbitant toll of approximately $2 million per vessel. In a daring move to bypass this crisis, three massive Omani tankers have successfully navigated an alternative route, avoiding Iranian waters altogether.
Satellite signals revealed that two crude oil tankers and one LPG carrier entered the Strait by hugging the Omani coastline. Interestingly, after crossing the Musandam coast, the vessels turned off their Automated Position Signals (AIS), making their final destination a mystery. These tankers are estimated to be carrying nearly 2 million barrels of crude oil.
The Iranian state media (IRNA) recently claimed that Tehran is drafting a monitoring protocol with Oman for vessel movement. However, Oman has remained silent on the matter. This maneuver is highly significant as it marks the first time since the war began that large-scale LNG and crude carriers have bypassed the primary Iranian-controlled channels, signaling a shift in maritime tactics amid the fuel crisis.
