Chaos in Baruipur! Rupa Ganguly Confronts Ganesh Mondal as TMC-BJP Clashes During Nominations

Baruipur turned into a political battlefield on Tuesday morning as supporters of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clashed during the filing of nominations. Tension flared up outside the Sub-Divisional Officer’s (SDO) office in South 24 Parganas when rival campaign rallies came face-to-face, leading to a heated exchange of slogans and verbal spats.
The incident occurred when BJP candidate from Sonarpur South, Rupa Ganguly, was leading a massive procession toward the SDO office to file her papers. Simultaneously, a rally supporting TMC’s Kultali candidate Ganesh Mondal arrived near the Baruipur police station. As the two groups converged, the situation quickly spiraled out of control, causing panic among local residents and disrupting traffic for nearly an hour.
Rupa Ganguly alleged that the TMC deliberately blocked her path to intimidate the BJP. In contrast, Ganesh Mondal refuted the claims, stating that the BJP was trying to stir trouble for political mileage. Prompt action by the Baruipur police prevented the situation from escalating into full-scale violence. Officers managed to separate the two factions and beefed up security in the area to ensure the nomination process continued without further hindrance.
