Carnage on Highway! 10 Dead, 30 Injured as Speeding Truck Rams into Passenger Bus in MP

A wave of mourning has swept across Madhya Pradesh following a horrific road accident on a National Highway early Thursday morning. At least 10 people were killed instantly and 30 others sustained severe injuries when a speeding truck collided head-on with a private passenger bus. The impact of the crash was so devastating that the bus was reduced to a mangled heap of metal, trapping passengers inside.
According to local authorities, the bus was heading towards its destination with over 40 passengers on board. The truck, reportedly coming from the opposite direction at an uncontrollable speed, lost balance and smashed into the bus. Local residents, who were the first to reach the spot, described a scene of pure chaos with screams for help echoing through the air.
Police and emergency services arrived shortly after and had to use heavy-duty gas cutters to extract the bodies and the survivors from the wreckage. Out of the 30 injured, the condition of at least seven individuals is said to be extremely critical, and they have been rushed to a specialized trauma center. There are fears that the death toll might rise in the coming hours.
Preliminary investigations suggest that either poor visibility due to morning fog or driver fatigue could be the cause of this catastrophe. The Chief Minister has expressed profound grief over the incident and has directed the district administration to provide the best possible medical care to the survivors. An ex-gratia payment for the families of the deceased has also been announced. This tragedy once again highlights the urgent need for stricter monitoring of heavy vehicles on highways to prevent such senseless loss of lives.
