A typical busy morning at Salt Lake’s Karunamoyee Bus Terminal turned into a nightmare this Thursday when a long-distance bus helper lost his life in a gruesome accident. The victim was reportedly crushed under the heavy rear wheels of the very bus he worked for. The incident occurred while the vehicle was being maneuvered or reversed within the congested terminal premises, leading to immediate chaos and panic among commuters.

According to eyewitnesses, the helper was stationed behind the bus, guiding the driver through the narrow parking space. In a split second of miscalculation or mechanical failure, the bus accelerated backward, trapping the man underneath. The impact was fatal, and he died on the spot amidst a pool of blood. The sight of the mangled remains sparked outrage among locals and passengers, who blamed the lack of safety protocols and reckless driving inside the terminal.

Bidhannagar North Police reached the spot shortly after the incident, recovered the body, and sent it for an autopsy. While the vehicle involved has been seized, the driver managed to flee the scene before police arrived. Authorities are currently investigating whether the accident was a result of driver negligence or a technical malfunction in the vehicle’s braking system.
