BJP Moves Election Commission Against Mamata! Demands FIR Over ‘Provocative Speeches.’

The political confrontation in West Bengal has reached a boiling point as the BJP moved the Election Commission of India (ECI) against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. A high-level delegation led by Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju, and State President Sukanta Majumdar filed a written complaint in Delhi on Monday, accusing the TMC supremo of creating a “calculated atmosphere of fear and provocation.”
The BJP’s complaint highlights Banerjee’s recent speeches in Maynaguri, Naxalbari, and Pandaveswar, labeling them as inflammatory and a direct violation of the Model Code of Conduct. The party has demanded the filing of an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Representation of the People Act. Additionally, TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s recent remarks were also flagged in the petition.
With assembly polls scheduled in two phases on April 23 and 29, the BJP has urged the ECI to deploy extra Central Forces and appoint more IAS and IPS observers to counter alleged “police bias.” While the TMC remains dismissive of these allegations, the political temperature continues to soar as the state moves toward a crucial mandate.
