Biman Basu Unveils CPIM Manifesto: Focus Shifts from Doles to Guaranteed Employment

In a major strategic push for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections, the Left Front has placed employment at the heart of its campaign. Releasing the party’s manifesto on Sunday, Left Front Chairman Biman Basu announced a landmark commitment: “At least one permanent government job for every household in the state.” This bold move is seen as a direct challenge to the ruling TMC’s welfare-centric model and the recruitment controversies of the past decade.

During the manifesto launch, Basu emphasized that the Left’s vision is to restore the dignity of the youth through stable income rather than temporary financial aid. The manifesto also promises to fill all existing government vacancies within a year, regularize contractual employees, and revive closed industrial units across Bengal. By prioritizing “Livelihood over Doles,” the CPI(M)-led front aims to regain its lost ground among the working class and young voters. As the poll battle intensifies, this “Job Guarantee” card is expected to be the centerpiece of the Left’s outreach against both the TMC and BJP.
