Bihar Deputy CM Slams Mamata Banerjee! ‘Violation of Constitutional Dignity is Unbecoming of a CM’
In a significant political escalation between neighboring states, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, has launched a blistering attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Sinha accused the TMC supremo of repeatedly breaching constitutional protocols and failing to uphold the dignity of the high office she occupies. His remarks have sparked a fresh row in the ongoing friction between the BJP-led states and the Trinamool-governed Bengal.
Speaking on the administrative style of Mamata Banerjee, Vijay Sinha stated, “Sitting in a constitutional position and consistently violating its norms is highly improper. The manner in which the West Bengal CM ignores federal structures and challenges institutional protocols is detrimental to democracy.” He further emphasized that a Chief Minister should prioritize governance over political vendetta, suggesting that Banerjee’s actions are setting a “wrong precedent” for the country.
The friction between Bihar and West Bengal has been intensified by recent debates over migrant labor and law enforcement across borders. However, Sinha’s direct jab at Banerjee’s “constitutional conduct” shifts the focus to the larger tussle between the State and the Centre. While the BJP is hailing Sinha’s statement as a necessary “reality check,” the Trinamool Congress has dismissed it as an “unwarranted interference” in West Bengal’s internal matters by a leader from another state.
