Bengal Polls Turn Violent! BJP Worker’s Ear Cut Off in Keshpur Clash; TMC Blamed

With the Assembly elections just weeks away, political violence has rocked the Keshpur area of West Midnapore. On Friday evening, a violent clash broke out between TMC and BJP workers in Kalagram over the hoisting of party flags, leaving three BJP supporters critically injured.
The Incident: The BJP alleged that while their workers were putting up flags in Region 11, TMC-backed goons tore them down. The argument quickly escalated into a brutal physical assault involving sticks and iron rods. One victim, Anup Dolui, sustained a horrific injury as his ear was reportedly cut during the attack. He is currently undergoing treatment at Midnapore Medical College.
Political Allegations: BJP leader Tanmoy Ghosh claimed that TMC candidate Shiuli Ghosh had openly threatened them, stating they want to eliminate any opposition presence in Keshpur. While the administration has deployed additional police and central forces to maintain order, the TMC leadership is yet to comment on the allegations. This flare-up has raised concerns about the possibility of a peaceful election in the district.
