“A Bit Tense but Optimistic!” Soham Chakraborty Reaches Out to Voters in New Turf Karimpur

Tollywood actor and TMC candidate Soham Chakraborty officially kicked off his election campaign for the Karimpur assembly seat in Nadia district this Sunday. After winning from East Midnapore’s Chandipur in 2021, Soham has shifted his base to a completely new constituency this time. Dressed in a simple white kurta-pyjama, the actor-politician began his day by seeking blessings at the Jongradah Kali Temple.

The launch was marked by a massive bike rally from the temple to the Karimpur bus stand, attracting thousands of supporters. Soham was seen navigating the streets, sometimes on foot and sometimes riding pillion with party workers, to connect with the local residents. He even took a brush in his hand to write his own name on a campaign wall. Speaking to ETV Bharat, Soham admitted to feeling a “slight tension” due to the unfamiliar territory but expressed confidence that he would win over Karimpur just as he did in Chandipur.

With the 294 seats of the state assembly heading for polls in just two phases on April 23 and 29, candidates have very little time for outreach. As the results are scheduled for May 4, Soham is putting in maximum effort to establish himself as the “boy next door” in Karimpur through direct interaction and door-to-door campaigning.
