Massive Fines Await Pilgrims for Making Reels or Videos During Hajj!

Saudi Arabia has implemented stringent regulations for Hajj 2026 to maintain the sanctity of the holy sites. The authorities have officially banned photography and video recording inside Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid-e-Nabawi in Madinah. Pilgrims caught violating these rules to create social media content will face heavy financial penalties.

Hefty Penalties for Content Creation According to the latest advisory, mobile phones should only be used for essential communication within the holy mosques. A fine of 10,000 Riyals (approximately ₹2.47 Lakhs) will be imposed on anyone found taking photos or making reels. This move aims to ensure that pilgrims focus entirely on their prayers and to manage the massive crowds more effectively.

Strict Visa Enforcement and Catering Rules In addition to the photography ban, the Saudi government is cracking down on unauthorized pilgrims. Anyone found within Hajj boundaries without a valid visa will be fined 30,000 Riyals, while hotels sheltering them could face a penalty of 100,000 Riyals. Furthermore, a new rule prohibits pilgrims from cooking their own meals in hotel rooms; they must now consume the food provided by the hotels to ensure safety and hygiene.
